We are a small animal practice in Marshall, VA located just outside the Northern Virginia metropolitan area right off Rte 66.
Our goal is to provide excellent service with emphasis on client education, personalized patient care and a quiet and calm environment for our patients.
Previous veterinary assistant experience is preferred.
Schedule is flexible and includes 2 Saturdays a month.
Familiarity with Avimark is a plus.
Must be dependable, quick to learn and able to work unsupervised once trained.
We need someone friendly, compassionate, mature, professional and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Checking in clients/patients.
Answering the phone, setting up appointments, filing, record keeping, processing payments, inventory of office supplies, sending out reminders.
Restraint of patients - dogs and cats only.
Running in-house lab work and processing samples to go to various outside laboratories.
Assisting in surgery preparation and anesthesia monitoring.
Provide nursing care to patients on the Doctor's instructions.
Preparation of sterile surgery packs, gowns and other instruments.
Assisting in taking radiographs.
Cleaning duties include cleaning rooms between appointments, cages, surgery, instruments, laundry and general clinic house keeping.
